The big tent is down. The clowns have moved on. But great memories of the 8th Annual LBGC PMS (Positively Male Shutout) Chairty Golf Outing ring out loud and clear! It was another fantastic year and the local chapter of the Ansar Shriners have really put on a jolly face -- we raised $30,000 for the Shriners Hospitals for Children! Two full flights of women golfers (144 total) reached into their golf bags for more than tees and balls and supported the cause by participating in everything from “One Buck Duck” to a shopping spree. Their performance under the big top combined with the generosity of our many local sponsors and donors added up to one of the greatest shows on earth – well, at least one of the greatest on Long Bridge Golf Course!
Of course, none of it happens without the cheerful assistance of so many volunteers! Thanks to the all the guys who volunteer to fetch and carry and make our day so wonderful! Thanks also to the lemonade makers and shakers – without you, nine holes is way too long! And to the other friends of LBGC founder Merle K. Buerkett (and ours too), what can we say? Thanks for still being there for us – to take our names (and our money!), keep us in line, and charm us while serving up yummy gulf shrimp. Space is too short to list our great guys by name but you know who you are and so do we – and we thank you, thank you, thank you!
With the continued support of our magnanimous sponsors and donors, our volunteers and all you lovely ladies, we look forward to continued success and to supporting another great local charity! Thanks again!
